We live in this culture of hustle and grind, with no space to breathe or flow. If we aren’t working, we are on a device, we are missing actual connection with others, and we are missing actual connection with ourselves.
So What's the Solution?
This is the magick question right? How can we let go and release these feelings of overwhelm, burnout, and negativity?
Honestly, if you only choose to do one thing from this list of suggestions, I hope you pick meditation. You don’t need to become a monk to experience the relaxing benefits of this practice. You don’t even need to spend a long time doing it. Here at The Moon Sisters, we have a Free 5 Minute Meditation that you can do anytime, even at your workplace when you take a short break. Inside The Sacred Circle we have a handful of longer and more targeted meditations to support you. The one that I feel is most beneficial is the Releasing Anxiety meditation, as I can remember all the feelings of anxiety that my burnout brought about.
Spending time outdoors in nature is one of the simplest ways to let go, and to be in the present moment. When you are focused on the wind kissing your skin, the leaves dancing in the trees, and the birds singing you silly melodies… you don’t have time or heart space to live in burnout. Being in nature allows you to connect with your body, and to all the elements around you. The best part about going outside, is that it’s free, and you never know what you’re going to see!
Don’t let that throat chakra stay blocked. One of the most important things you can do is to speak up about how you are feeling, and ask for what you need. Most workplaces are more than accommodating so that their employees stay productive, and keep the working environment happy. If you work for yourself, then you need to take a good long look in the mirror and give yourself some work boundaries. I’ll be the first to admit that when I kept my mind, body, and work in hustle mode all the time, I was grossly unhappy, and it messed with my hormones, productivity, and relationships. Speak up, to your boss, to yourself, to a close friend or your partner, and ask for what you need. (Tip… it’s likely space, time off, a breather, or less projects!)
There are so many valuable resources here on our website and at your fingertips. When it comes to burnout, you need to remember that this is your life, and you only get to experience it moment by moment. Why not give yourself the gift of releasing your burnout, so that the present moment can be experienced from a place of joy?
