Last weekend I came across a recipe for cinnamon milk tea and was immediately IN LOVE! If you know me, you know how much I (and Dalea) love tea of pretty much any sort. But when you throw CINNAMON into the mix?!
Cinnamon has LOADS of health benefits such as:
Cinnamon is high in cinnamaldehyde, which is thought to be responsible for most of cinnamon’s health benefits.
It’s PACKED with antioxidants
OH and all the anti-inflammatory properties? Yes please.
It can improve sensitive to the hormone insulin.
It can lower your blood sugar and has a powerful anti-diabetic effect.
Cinnamon Helps Fight Bacterial and Fungal Infections
As soon as I found this recipe, I immediately made my own little version and it’s been such a soothing, healing and comforting drink to relax and soothe the soul!
Sweet Cinnamon Milk Tea Recipe
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a small pot
Add 3 vanilla chai black tea bags to the pot, place the lid on top and let steep for 7 minutes (if you are using cinnamon sticks, you may add 2 cinnamon sticks in for the duration of the tea steeping)
While the tea is steeping, heat up 1 ½ cups of coconut almond milk (or whatever milk you prefer - I just adore this flavor) in the microwave or small saucepan.
Once the tea is done steeping, remove the cinnamon sticks.
Stir in 3-5 tablespoons of maple syrup (adjust according to you preferred sweetness)
Add in the warm milk and gently stir and add a dash of cinnamon powder on top for an extra kick and pretty aesthetic!
This should be enough for two cups of Sweet Cinnamon Milk Tea to enjoy with your friends, partner or save the extra in the fridge to have over ice the next morning!
